I am so excited to announce that I have taken on the role of Editorial Director for H2O Magazine!  This new endeavour will be a wonderful platform to continue to champion fly fishing and all the wonderful destinations we have here in Canada and the United States.

Six days in the backcountry of Newfoundland, alongside my dear friend Wes, brought me face-to-face with the beauty and intensity of moose hunting.

There are those days out on the water when you just know you're going to catch what you came for. It's the same feeling I had on some race days as a cyclist-lining up my bike, anticipating that starter's gun, and knowing, without a shadow of a doubt, that the race was mine to win.

Settling into my seat on yet another flight bound for a fishing trip, i’ve grown accustomed to the curious glances and quizzical expressions often thrown my way. Those looks are usually accompanied by the questions, “Where are you headed?”

I am back in my office after a much-needed week of rest and recovery. You are likely wondering why I look so different, “Did she color her hair?

I recently got back from an unforgettable jungle fly fishing trip with a group of clients who were experiencing the jungle for the first time. Watching their responses to the raw beauty and untamed wildness of the jungle was nothing short of magical. It felt like I was seeing it all for the first time again, through their eyes. The excitement on their faces as they landed their first golden dorado was absolutely priceless.

Being in tune with nature in this incredible sport helps me to tune out all the noise and distraction of daily life. Do I love catching fish? Of course! Pursuing that catch is an incredible rush. But the outcome of a caught fish is certainly not the whole story.
