Doubt your Doubts
How many times have you thought you weren’t good enough, weren’t qualified enough, or weren’t experienced enough for something? I can't even begin to count the number of times I’ve felt that way—definitely over a million! Too many times I've allowed my feelings of self-doubt to prevent me from doing things.
Fortunately, there have also been countless times where I've simply acknowledged the fact that I felt that way and chose to move forward anyway. When I was asked to be the main speaker at a Leadership Conference, my initial response was, “Do they have the right Emily Rodger?” To add to my feelings of self-doubt, I was told who the organizers had hired to speak at their past events, and was absolutely certain they must have confused me with someone else! How did I respond to the invite? I said, "Yes of course, I would be honoured!" (and, as it turns out, they had the right Emily Rodger after all). Feelings of self-doubt are normal, it's part and parcel to being human, but what you do with those feelings is up to you! I choose to spend less time doubting myself, and more time doubting my doubts! I hope you can, too. ❤️
